Lady with Myrtle Rod

Hello,

I've been busy reading The Arabian Night's Entertainments I borrowed from the library, (must buy it), and it's been great brain food. This is an illustration I produced of a character in one of the stories.

If you're not aware of the story, it's a story about stories witihn stories, I suppose - read it!

the scan was poor so I tried fixing it as much as I could.

Sketchbook: Animals

Mello,
Here's some more drawings in my sketchbook I did at the Natural History Museum. I cleaned them up a Little - I had to use tonsa fixative.

(Since they're Full page, and I only have an A4 scanner, scanning and stitching was really annoying arg).

Have a nice day!

Boldfish

Hello,
These are some spreads from another concertian-book I made called 'Boldfish'. It's about a bold fish *dadum tish*, who leaves his shoal of fish and eats something peculiar then turns absolutely enormous.

This one isn't as strong narrative-wise as 'Dawn', should have worked on it longer, but it was fun anyhow.
Fish is a strange word, you can say 'lots of fish' or say 'lots of fishes', bleh. But then again if you're saying 'lots of...', is it necessary to add the 'es' at the end? bleh, bleh, bleh.

Update: Drawing at the Natural History Museum

Mello,
some of my other studies at the museum. Very elegant herbivores (wish I saw them alive rather than stuffed.)

Wild Young Hearts

hello,

I just got some inspiration while listening to Noisettes, especially 'Wild Young Hearts'. The woman is loosely based on Shingai Shoniwa, the band frontsman (he he frontsman).
Go Shoniwa!

have a nice day!

Inky Fox

hello,

this was a quick drawing I did using quink ink and a bright orange colouring pencil.

Ani-animals

hello,

did some drawing at the Natural History Museum then watercoloured it at home. I never get bored of that place ever ever ever ever, times a squilion with a beret on top. Going to do more drawing there again.

Listening to Noisettes new album: much more toned down, liked the punkyness of the first. A good second album.

Silent Hill

hello,

I just found some fanart I did around a year ago of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. I've bought Homecoming for the PS3 recently, (it's quite hard). I used to enjoy the fact that I had the upper hand in the earlier games, any who the graphics are amazing.

Mr. Genie

hello,
my intention was to keep it just line art but it looked unfinished somehow, so I added some colour.

I'm too scared but I want put in blocks of black next time I do something like this, so that the design looks good simply in Black and white...like in a black and white comic or something.

The Magician's Mongoose: Update

hello,

two more spreads that I really like.

The Arabian Nights

Hello,

just recently bought this book, it's a compilation of different illustrators who've produced artwork for The Arabian Nights novel. It was very inspirational. Artwork presented in the book have been produced by Edmund Dulac, Rene Bull, Charles Folkard, among others.
These images aren't illustratons of specific scenes or characters - just something I came up with since I haven't read the book yet, arg

Must must must must get a hold of the novel soon!
