Phantasm

hello,

I've been looking through some of my sketches I've done in the past at the Natural History Museum and they got me thinking again.

It's amazing how there are pockets of life in places you never think of.

I remember watching Hayao Miyazaki's: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984) and its thoughtful eco undertones of the peaceful coexistance of humans and other creatures. This piece is a sort of inspiration of Miyazaki's films.

I'ts kind of silly but I can remember how I'd associate different smells to different environments and memories. For some reason I use to think of ancient woods and forests whenever I smelt Lavender, even though lavender doesn't really grow in ancient woods! I also use to associate, and still do, The Hobbit by Tolkien with the smell of Lavender...very peculiar.

That's really nice. And Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is one of my fave movies.
Also I have fixed the comment problem on my blog.
