This is a minicomic I did for The Pulp Girl’s first issue of The Pulp Zine. The theme for May is ‘Good Times’. It’s based loosely on Hey Sis, a song by Dum Dum Girls. I really fell in love with the song, although I have no idea what the exact lyrics are, (so if someone knows, please give meeee themmm). It’s about a little girl hanging out with her cool big sis. She really looks up to her and copies absolutely everything she does. She can’t wait to grow up so she can be like her. I can relate to her as I use to love hanging out with my big sis when I was really young. She used to work at Heathrow and have fancy-pants drinks all the time. I can remember she use to save those little cocktail umbrellas for me. I didn't understand why you’d want a tiny umbrella unless you were a teeny mouse or something. Big sisters are totally underrated so this is for them!

Happy-Dappy Wedding Illustration
Maria my work colleague wanted me to draw her son and daughter-in-law to be, so she could make a lovely personalised card for them.
Photo reference from their wedding photographers lovely website here.

Plague: A Cross on the Door
Hello!
I recently received copies of the above title, written by Ann Turnbull, and illustrated by me! This book will be added to The National Archives and most likely the second one as well, which I am currently working on.

'Plague: A Cross on the Door'
Just finished some illustrations for an educational children’s fiction, here’s a few. It’s based on historical fact, so I had to be pretty accurate with the clothing and environment, which was fun. The story is about a family living through plague in 16th century London.

Winter In Paris
Thought I’d heed some advice from my agent and start working on themes and subjects focusing on seasonal imagery, representation of POC, children, landmarks, different countries. I enjoyed this one, wanted a windy, wintery feel, but with some of those lovely autumnal colours added in.

'Story Sharers' - Community Project
Made a small contribution to a local community project about, well people sharing their stories I guess. Stories people have been told as children, stories written by children; personal stories, all sorts. A selection of these will be published in a small book for people to buy locally. I’ve illustrated a few of them, here are some of my faves.

The Tuts girl gang girl
Hello!
Just a t-shirt/patch/tote bag/anything else design I did for The Tuts again. An all-girl, 3-piece, raucous punk band.
Inspiration taken from Switchblade Sisters (1975), 80’s hairdos and The Tuts.
After doing This I started looking at Love & Rockets a comic series by the Hernandez brothers which, deals with similar themes to this illustration: punk, lots of good female characters and black and white artwork!

Kate Nash Ink Doodle
Hello,
Just an inky doodle I did. If you look carefully you can see my vain efforts to draw her using a dark pencil. Got angry and rubbed it all out and started fresh using a brush pen.
I might be seeing her tomorrow at The Shacklewell Arms, London. Fingers crossed!).

Shadow Snatcher (Wired Up Series)
Hello,
Just received a few copies of Shadow Snatcher from the publisher. This particular one in the series is targeted at a slightly younger audience compared to Petrify, which was a bit more gorey. Shadow Snatcher is written by Lou Kuenzler.
I’ll be working on some colour illustrations hopefully in a few months on a girls classic tales series for QED Publishing, (fingers crossed!).
